Menu or Recipes?

I have created this site because I love to cook and more than cooking I love to feed people. I want to share food ideas and recipes and I also want to let our friends and family know what food options they have when they come to visit. But it is not just about food and cooking. It is about friends, family and loved ones. Living life and enjoying each other.

I present a lot of my recipes as a visual menu you can pick from in advance of visiting. But you can also refer back to it when you go home and want to cook for yourself.

I honestly feel being able to cook great food is fundamental to our lifestyle. I am not about fast easy recipes, but rather great food regardless of what effort is required. You eat every day of your life, behind breathing and perhaps sleeping, it is the next most essential thing you do. Why not master making food you love and create a food first mentality. Okay, food second, wine first.

Now we are cooking with gas!

Its a cliche but we are actually cooking with gas. I live in the city so cooking with wood fire is restricted but I would if I could. Instead we smoke with wood pellets and everything else is cooked with gas on the barbecue, side burner (searing element) or my Blackstone griddle. But where I use the barbecue to bake – you can use an oven. When I use the side burner or searing element to cook – you can use the stove top.

Can I cook all of this in my kitchen too?

Of course. It will be easier in your kitchen because you have better temperature control. So just interpret my instructions appropriately and adapt as needed.
